What is computer diagnostics?
It means plugging diagnostic equipment into the car's port to read the fault codes and data stored by its control units. It shows which system the problem is in and where to start checking.
Will diagnostics always find the exact fault?
A fault code points to the system or component that detected the problem, but not always to the part that needs replacing. That's why the affected system is checked after the codes are read.
Can I keep driving with the engine warning light on?
If the light is flashing, the warning is red, or you notice loss of power, noises or high temperature, stop somewhere safe and call us before carrying on. If the light is steady and the car drives normally, book a check as soon as you can.
My battery goes flat when the car is parked. What could it be?
It could be the battery itself, the charging system or something that keeps drawing power with the car switched off. To find out, the current draw has to be measured and the charging circuit checked.
